Cyclists and walkers are well catered for; 2km from the cottage is a disused railway line which is now a cycleway and runs for miles.
The Abbaye Hotel in nearby Le Neufbourg is run by an English couple and combines French and English cuisine, and does excellent Sunday lunches - advance booking is advisable.

At Mortain there is the Grande Cascade, The highest waterfall in West France.
The 30 mile drive to the Mont Saint Michel is through the beautiful countryside of Normandy.
This area has lots of activities including farm animals, a zip wire, and a canopy rope bridge in the trees.
The Normandy D-Day beaches are about 60 miles away and the Bayeux tapestry is worth a visit.
St Mere-Eglise has a fine museum dedicated to the D-Day landings.
